As members of the human race and devout Christians, it is the responsibility and obligation of us all to offer up our mind and body for the fulfillment of God’s commission, for our entire being came from God, and it exists thanks to the sovereignty of God. If our minds and bodies are not for God’s commission and not for the righteous cause of mankind, then our souls will be unworthy of those who were martyred for God’s commission, much more unworthy of God, who has provided us with everything.

God created this world, He created this mankind, and moreover He was the architect of ancient Greek culture and human civilization. Only God consoles this mankind, and only God cares for this mankind night and day. Human development and progress is inseparable from the sovereignty of God, and the history and future of mankind are inextricable from the designs of God. If you are a true Christian, then you will surely believe that the rise and fall of any country or nation occurs according to the designs of God. God alone knows the fate of a country or nation, and God alone controls the course of this mankind. Look back to the time of Noah’s ark: Mankind was deeply corrupt, had strayed from the blessing of God, was no longer cared for by God, and had lost the promises of God. They lived in darkness, without the light of God. Thus they became licentious by nature, abandoned themselves to hideous depravity. Such men could no longer receive the promise of God; they were unfit to witness the face of God, nor to hear the voice of God, for they had abandoned God, had cast aside all that He had bestowed upon them, and had forgotten the teachings of God. Their heart strayed farther and farther from God, and as it did, they became depraved beyond all reason and humanity, and became increasingly evil. Thus they came ever closer to death, and fell under the wrath and punishment of God. Only Noah worshiped God and shunned evil, and so he was able to hear the voice of God, and hear the instructions of God. He built the ark according to the instructions of God’s word, and assembled all manner of living creatures. And in this way, once everything had been prepared, God unleashed His destruction upon the world. Only Noah and the seven members of his family survived the destruction, for Noah worshiped Jehovah and shunned evil.

Then look upon the present age: Such righteous men as Noah, who could worship God and shun evil, have ceased to exist. Yet God is still gracious toward this mankind, and absolves mankind during this final era. God seeks those who long for Him to appear. He seeks those who are able to hear His words, those who have not forgotten His commission and offer up their heart and body to Him. He seeks those who are as obedient as babes before Him, and do not resist Him. If you are unhindered by any force in your devotion to God, then God shall look upon you with favor, and shall bestow His blessings upon you. If you are of high station, of honorable reputation, possessed of abundant knowledge, the owner of plentiful assets, and supported by many people, yet these things do not prevent you from coming before God to accept His calling and His commission, to do what God asks of you, then all that you do shall be the most significant on earth and the most righteous of mankind. If you reject the call of God for the sake of status and your own goals, all that you do shall be cursed and even despised by God. Maybe you are a president, or a scientist, a pastor, or an elder, but no matter how high your office, if you rely on your knowledge and ability in your undertakings, then you shall always be a failure, and shall always be bereft of the blessings of God, because God accepts nothing that you do, and He does not grant that your career is a righteous one, or accept that you are working for the benefit of mankind. He will say that everything you do, is to use the knowledge and strength of mankind to divest man of the protection of God, and to deny the blessings of God. He will say that you are leading mankind toward darkness, toward death, and toward the start of an existence without limits in which man has lost God and His blessing.

From when man first had social sciences, the mind of man was occupied by science and knowledge. Then science and knowledge became tools for the ruling of mankind, and there was no longer sufficient room for man to worship God, and no more favorable conditions for the worship of God. The position of God sunk ever lower in the heart of man. A world in man’s heart with no place for God is dark, empty without hope. And so arose many social scientists, historians, and politicians to express theories of social science, the theory of human evolution, and other theories that contravene the truth that God created man, to fill the heart and mind of man. And in this way, those who believe that God created everything become ever fewer, and those who believe in the theory of evolution become ever greater in number. More and more people treat records of the work of God and His words during the Old Testament age as myths and legends. In their hearts, people become indifferent to the dignity and greatness of God, to the tenet that God exists and holds dominion over all things. The survival of mankind and the fate of countries and nations are no longer important to them. Man lives in a hollow world only concerned with eating, drinking, and the pursuit of pleasure. … Few people take it upon themselves to seek out where God does His work today, or to look for how He presides over and arranges the destination of man. And in this way, human civilization unconsciously becomes ever more incapable of meeting the wishes of man, and there are even many people who feel that, living in such a world, they are less happy than people who have gone. Even people of countries that used to be highly civilized air such grievances. For without the guidance of God, no matter how much rulers and sociologists wrack their brains to preserve human civilization, it is to no avail. No one can fill the emptiness in man’s heart, for no one can be the life of man, and no social theory can free man from the emptiness with which he is afflicted. Science, knowledge, freedom, democracy, leisure, comfort, these are but a temporary respite. Even with these things, man will inevitably sin and bemoan the injustices of society. These things cannot allay man’s craving and desire to explore. Because man was made by God and the senseless sacrifices and explorations of man can only lead to more distress. Man will exist in a constant state of fear, will not know how to face the future of mankind, or how to face the path that lies ahead. Man will even come to fear science and knowledge, and fear even more the feeling of emptiness within him. In this world, regardless of whether you live in a free country or one without human rights, you are utterly incapable of escaping the fate of mankind. Whether you are the ruler or the ruled, you are utterly incapable of escaping the desire to explore the fate, mysteries, and destination of mankind. Much less are you capable of escaping the bewildering sense of emptiness. Such phenomena, which are common to all of mankind, are called social phenomena by sociologists, yet no great man can come forth to solve such problems. Man, after all, is man. The position and life of God cannot be replaced by any man. Mankind does not just require a fair society in which everyone is well-fed and is equal and free, but the salvation of God and His provision of life to them. Only when man receives the salvation of God and His provision of life to them can the needs, yearning to explore, and spiritual emptiness of man be resolved. If the people of a country or a nation are unable to receive the salvation and care of God, then such a country or nation will tread the road to ruin, toward darkness, and shall be annihilated by God.

Perhaps your country currently prospers, but if you allow your people to stray from God, then your country shall find itself increasingly bereft of the blessings of God. The civilization of your country shall be increasingly trampled underfoot, and before long the people shall rise up against God and curse Heaven. And so the fate of a country shall be unwittingly brought to ruin. God shall raise up powerful countries to deal with those countries that have been cursed by God, and may even wipe them from the face of the earth. The rise and fall of a country or nation is predicated upon whether its rulers worship God, and whether they lead their people closer to God and to worship Him. And yet, in this final era, because those who truly seek and worship God are increasingly scarce, God bestows special favor upon countries in which Christianity is the state religion. He gathers them together to form the relatively righteous camp of the world, while atheistic countries or those which do not worship the true God become the opponents of the righteous camp. In this way, God not only has a place among mankind in which to conduct His work, but also gains countries that can exercise righteous authority, so as to impose sanctions and restrictions on those countries that resist God. Yet despite this, still there are not more people who come forward to worship God, because man has strayed too far from Him, and God has been absent from the thoughts of man for too long. There remain on earth only countries that exercise righteousness and resist unrighteousness. But this is far from the wishes of God, for no country’s rulers will allow God to preside over their people, and no political party shall gather together its people to worship God; God has lost His rightful place in the heart of every country, nation, ruling party, and even in the heart of every person. Although righteous forces do exist in this world, rule in which God holds no place in the heart of man is fragile. Without the blessing of God, the political arena shall fall into disarray and become vulnerable to attack. For mankind, being without the blessing of God is like having no sunshine. Regardless of how assiduously rulers make contributions to their people, irrespective of how many righteous conferences mankind holds together, none of this shall turn things around or alter the fate of mankind. Man believes that a country in which people are fed and clothed, in which they live together peacefully, is a good country, and one with good leadership. But God does not think so. He believes that a country in which no one worships Him is one that He shall annihilate. Man’s way of thinking is too much at odds with that of God. If the head of a country does not worship God, then the fate of this country shall be a tragic one, and the country shall have no destination.

God does not partake in the politics of man, yet the fate of a country or nation is controlled by God. God controls this world and the entire universe. The fate of man and the plan of God are intimately connected, and no man, country or nation is exempt from the sovereignty of God. If man wishes to know his fate, then he must come before God. God shall cause those who follow and worship Him to prosper, and shall bring decline and extinction upon those who resist and reject Him.

Recall the scene in the Bible when God wrought destruction upon Sodom, and think also of how Lot’s wife became a pillar of salt. Think back to how the people of Nineveh repented their sins in sackcloth and ashes, and recall what followed after the Jews nailed Jesus to the cross 2,000 years ago. The Jews were expelled from Israel and fled to countries around the world. Many were killed, and the entire Jewish nation was subjected to unprecedented destruction. They had nailed God to the cross—committed a heinous crime—and provoked the disposition of God. They were made to pay for what they did, were made to bear the consequences of their actions. They condemned God, rejected God, and so they had but one fate: to be punished by God. This is the bitter consequence and disaster that their rulers brought upon their country and nation.

Today, God has returned to the world to do His work. His first stop is the grand assemblage of dictatorial rulers: China, the staunch bastion of atheism. God has gained a group of people by His wisdom and power. During the period, He is hunted by China’s ruling party in every means and subjected to great suffering, with no place to rest His head and unable to find a shelter. Despite this, God still continues the work He intends to do: He utters His voice and spreads the gospel. None can fathom the almightiness of God. In China, a country that regards God as an enemy, God has never ceased His work. Instead, more people have accepted His work and word, for God does all He can to save each and every member of mankind. We trust that no country or power can stand in the way of what God wishes to achieve. Those that obstruct God’s work, resist the word of God, disturb and impair the plan of God shall ultimately be punished by God. He who defies the work of God shall be sent to hell; any country that defies the work of God shall be destroyed; any nation that rises up to oppose the work of God shall be wiped from this earth, and shall cease to exist. I urge the people of all nations, countries, and even industries to listen to the voice of God, to behold the work of God, to pay attention to the fate of mankind, thus making God the most holy, the most honorable, the highest, and only object of worship, and allowing the whole of mankind to live under the blessing of God, just as the descendants of Abraham lived under the promise of Jehovah, and just as Adam and Eve, who were originally made by God, lived in the Garden of Eden.

The work of God is like mightily surging waves. No one can detain Him, and no one can halt His footsteps. Only those who listen carefully to His words, and who seek and thirst for Him, can follow His footsteps and receive His promise. Those who do not shall be subjected to overwhelming disaster and deserved punishment.

You testify the “Eastern Lightning” is the true way, how can you prove that? Our faith in Jesus is because Jesus can redeem us all. What proof do you have to show that the “Eastern Lightning” is the true way?

Answer:To answer this question, let’s read two passages of Almighty God’s words and see how Almighty God phrased it. Almighty God says, “What is the most basic principle in seeking the true way? You have to look at whether or not there is the work of the Holy Spirit, whether or not these words are the expression of the truth, who is testified, and what it can bring you.” (from “Only Those Who Know God and His Work Can Satisfy God” in The Word Appears in the Flesh)

“To study such a thing is not difficult, but requires each of us to know this truth: He who is God’s incarnation shall hold the substance of God, and He who is God’s incarnation shall hold the expression of God. Since God becomes flesh, He shall bring forth the work He must do, and since God becomes flesh, He shall express what He is, and shall be able to bring the truth to man, bestow life upon man, and show man the way. Flesh that does not contain the substance of God is surely not the incarnate God; of this there is no doubt. To investigate whether it is God’s incarnate flesh, man must determine this from the disposition He expresses and the words He speaks. Which is to say, whether or not it is God’s incarnate flesh, and whether or not it is the true way, must be judged from His substance. Brothers and sisters, the true way is the work done by God Himself. Since that’s God’s own work, there will be the expression of the truth and the Holy Spirit’s work. We testify the “Eastern Lighting” as the true way and Almighty God as the incarnate God. This is because Almighty God has come to express various truths, and He judges and purifies mankind, and accomplishes His work plan of purifying and saving man in the last days.

Almighty God says, “… when God becomes flesh this time, His work is to express His disposition, primarily through chastisement and judgment. Using this as the foundation, He brings more truth to man, shows more ways of practice, and so achieves His objective of conquering man and saving man from his corrupt disposition. “Through this work of judgment and chastisement, man will fully come to know the filthy and corrupt substance within him, and he will be able to completely change and become clean. Only in this way can man be worthy to return before the throne of God. All the work done this day is so that man can be made clean and be changed; through judgment and chastisement by the word, as well as refinement, man can cast away his corruption and be made pure. Almighty God has expressed all the truths for mankind to know God and to find salvation, disclosing each and every mystery of His management plan, like the purpose of His six-thousand-year management, His working principles, the inside truth of His three stages of work, the mystery and significance of His incarnation, how man has developed up till today, the future destination of mankind, the truth of the Bible, and the significance of His names, and so on. All these are mysteries that man can’t fathom. In Almighty God’s words, mankind’s corrupt substance and roots are both thoroughly revealed. In the severe judgment of God’s words, we have true knowledge of our own corruption and ugliness, like our arrogance, conceit, selfishness and baseness. Meanwhile, we understand the truth, have true knowledge of God’s righteous disposition, and feel reverence for God, which changes our life disposition to different degrees, and gradually delivers us from the fallen cycle of sin and confession. And this fully proves that Almighty God’s work is the true way. Almighty God’s word is the truth, the way, and the life, full of authority and power. It can purify man and save them. Besides God, who else can help man break away from the bondage of sin? Besides God, who else can reveal the mysteries that were hidden for thousands of years?

Only God is the truth, the way, and the life; only God can bestow the way of eternal life upon man; only by accepting the truth expressed by Christ of the last days can we find eternal salvation. Now let’s read more of Almighty God’s words.

Almighty God says, “God Himself is life, and the truth, and His life and truth coexist. Those who are incapable of gaining the truth shall never gain life. Without the guidance, support, and provision of the truth, you shall only gain letters, doctrines, and, moreover, death. God’s life is ever-present, and His truth and life coexist. If you cannot find the source of truth, then you will not gain the nourishment of life; if you cannot gain the provision of life, then you will surely have no truth, and so apart from imaginations and conceptions, the entirety of your body shall be nothing but flesh, your stinking flesh. Know that the words of books do not count as life, the records of history cannot be feted as the truth, and the doctrines of the past cannot serve as an account of words presently spoken by God. “Christ of the last days brings life, and brings the enduring and everlasting way of truth. This truth is the path through which man shall gain life, and the only path by which man shall know God and be approved by God. Almighty God’s word and work is the salvation that God grants to mankind in the last days, and the only path for us to be saved in the last days. The Bible says what’s of God will increase and what’s of man will decrease. Today, only about twenty years after Almighty God began His work on earth, God’s kingdom gospel, despite the resistance and persecution from the CCP and the religious world, is still as irresistible as the mighty tide. Right now, it’s spreading throughout Mainland China as well as many other countries in the world. Nowadays, it’s spreading further to all nations, all places. How to discern orthodoxy and cults?

How to differentiate between the cult and orthodoxy? There are principles of the truth to seek in it, and they are not differentiated according to any political party’s or any person’s view at will, much less according to any state or any constitution. If they’re differentiated in this way, it’s unfair. First, we must be certain what “rightness” is before we can ascertain the true way. Only the truth is the positive thing, and is the root of anything “right.” Where does the truth come from? The truth comes from Christ, and Christ is the embodiment of God’s Spirit, so the truth comes from God. All those come from God are positive things. Only the word of the Creator is the truth, and only the incarnate Christ can express the truth. This is Heaven’s will and a heavenly rule. No nation, political party, or group can disobey, much less resist or oppose. Whoever disobeys, resists, or opposes will bring destruction upon himself. It completely fulfills God’s word that the corrupt mankind brings destruction upon themselves all because of resisting God. In the world and among human society, all positive things are in accordance with Heaven’s will and people’s will. What is in accordance with Heaven’s will and people’s will is the orthodoxy. Believing in God is in accordance with Heaven’s will as well as people’s will. Being in accordance with people’s will means that most of mankind approve of believing in God, and they can all confirm in their conscience that believing in God is walking the right way and agree that the believers in God are decent and good people. So it is right and proper to believe in and obey God and worship the Creator, and it is a positive thing, and meets Heaven’s will and people’s will. What’s “evil”? “Evil” means not being in accordance with Heaven’s will, and even more acting against Heaven, running counter to right principles, and disobeying Heaven’s will and people’s will. Then, what disobeys Heaven’s will and people’s will? Not allowing people to believe in God is disobeying Heaven’s will and people’s will. All doings that mankind disapproves of and condemns in the conscience and sense are evil. All those men approve of, admit, and acknowledge in the conscience are positive things. Believing in God is a positive thing. All those things that resist God, condemn God, and oppose God are negative things. Negative things are completely done by Satan the evil force. If we can be certain about what is rightness and what is evil, it will be easy to distinguish what the orthodoxy is and what a cult is. To put it exactly, all churches that believe in the true God are the orthodoxy, all those who believe in false gods, evil spirits, or Satan the devil are cults, and all those who advocate the fallacies and heresies of resisting God, such as atheism and evolutionism, and so on are cults. Then, let us investigate the history of the Communist Party. As we all know, the Communist Party was founded by Marx, a German. He was a believer of Satanism who worshiped Satan, and claimed himself to be Satan the devil. Then, how could the Communist Party founded by such a real demon be orthodoxy? In addition, what the Communist Party tirelessly advocates is violent revolution, slaughter of mankind, and atheism. Marx said in Manifesto of the Communist Party, “A spectre is haunting Europe—the spectre of communism.” And now, the spectre of Communism has realized in the Communist Party. Thus, isn’t the Communist Party, a reactionary organization, a real cult? The Chinese Communist Party is craftier than its ancestor Marx, for Marx dared acknowledge himself to be Satan the devil, but the Chinese Communist Party dare not do that. Moreover, the Chinese Communist Party is very good at distorting the fact, confounding black and white, pretending and deceiving, and playing the trick of a thief crying “Stop thief,” even saying the orthodoxy as the false and evil, but saying the evil as orthodoxy. Clearly, the Communist Party itself is evil and reactionary, but it pretends to be right and just and does its utmost to proclaim that the Chinese Communist Party is “great, glorious, and correct,” which is the Chinese Communist Party’s consistent means. Playing the trick of a thief crying “stop thief” is what the Communist Party is very good at. The one who can deceive, cheat, fool, corrupt, and slaughter mankind most in the world is the Communist Party. Therefore, all those that are supported, advocated and approved by the Communist Party are negative things, and those that are labeled as cults and persecuted brutally by it could well be orthodoxy and the true way. Now, none except the Communist Party will condemn an orthodox church as a cult. Actually, the Communist Party is the true and real cult, and is the typical representative of all cults. It is the true Satanism in the last days and is a typical group of devils, which is to say, the most evil and insidious reactionary organization and terrorist organization. This is widely known and absolutely right.

Besides, whether a religion or a church is a cult should be judged by the majority, all people of faith, and people around the world according to the universally acknowledged value, which is just. It’s kind of absurd to judge a religion as a cult only based on the constitution formulated by the atheistic Communist Party, for it itself is atheistic and doesn’t acknowledge the existence of God at all, much less know God. It resists God and is the enemy of God. It can be said it is not eligible to comment on things of belief in God, much less to condemn any group or church that believes in God. In fact, the Communist Party has openly labeled the Bible as a cult book and designated all groups and churches that believe in God as cults, includingChristian churches, all the house churches, and other religious groups. Since the Communist Party assumed power in Mainland China, it has always restricted, oppressed, and persecuted believers in God by all kinds of cruel means, and deprived people of their freedom of belief. Also, it has used the public opinion, and political and legal means to pressure and threaten believers, forbidding them to worship and follow God. In contrast, it asks people to worship it, submit to it, and continue to receive its rule and serve it. Furthermore, it advocates that it’s the Communist Party which bestows happiness on people and that it is the “bread giver” of Chinese people, which is truly brazen and unreasonable. From these, we can see that the Chinese Communist Party is a real evil party and cult and it is more brutal than fascists. At present, the evil Chinese Communist Party is the most ruthless, ferocious, and frenzied resister of God. It exploits, cheats, and suppresses people most fiercely, and has trapped and slaughtered more people than anywhere else in the world. What it has done has long incurred God’s wrath and man’s resentment. So, China is a country that has the most escapers and whose people have a strongest wish for immigration in the world. They all want to escape from China, the devilish prison. It now has been a fact known to the whole world. Therefore, the illegal party that seized power by lies, deception, and violent slaughter, simply has no right to judge or condemn any religion or church to be an orthodox church or a cult. In addition, the constitution of the Chinese Communist Party is not in accordance with the International Convention of Human Rights at all. Although it has signed and agreed with some regulations in the Convention, that is merely cheating the people and the world. In reality, it never acknowledges, accepts, or obeys it. Thus, the constitution of the Chinese Communist Party is not at all true law. It is formulated for the people as the instrument to restrict and bind them, while they themselves never abide by it. It can be said with certainty that in any country under the dictatorship of the Communist Party, there is no law at all. All its government officials and policemen have ever claimed publicly that they are the law and what they say is law. So, in the countries ruled dictatorially by the Communist Party, power is always greater than law, which results in the present lawless situation. Therefore, the Chinese people have long distrusted its nonsense, for all that it says is heresy and fallacy, which distorts the facts, confuses black with white, and is totally unreasonable. Why are the “Eastern Lightning” opposed and condemned by the religious world?

God has become flesh twice to personally carry out His work on earth to save man, yet each time He meets with strong resistance and condemnation and frenzied persecution from the religious leaders. The facts are shocking and puzzling: Why is God treated this way whenever He carries out a new stage of work? Why are the most frenzied and rampant resisters of God the leaders who know the Bible well and who have served the Lord for years? Why do they, the most faithful and obedient ones to God in their own eyes, always carry out misdeeds and go contrary to God, unable to be compatible with Him? Could it be that God’s work is an error? Could it be that what God does is unsatisfactory? Absolutely not! The main reason all denominations and sects act out a role of resisting God and become God’s enemies is this: On the one hand, they have no truth and have no knowledge of the work of the Holy Spirit or knowledge of God, and they always use their limited theological theories and knowledge as well as their conceptions and imaginations to restrict God’s work that is always new and never old. On the other hand, men are so deeply corrupted by Satan that they are all arrogant and haughty by nature, are unsubmissive to the truth, and particularly value position. These two aspects together have led to the tragedy of the true way being rejected and condemned again and again in human history.

Two thousand years ago, the Lord Jesus performed many miracles among the Jews, and He healed the sick, exorcised demons, spread the gospel of the kingdom of heaven, taught people to repent, and forgave them of their sins. There was no record of such work in the Old Testament, and it was the work that no one had ever done before. It was also of course the work none were capable of, for apart from God, no one had such great authority and power. What Jesus set out to accomplish at that time was to be crucified to bear man’s sins personally, bestow upon man an abundance of grace and peace and joy, and bring him out of the rules of the law through the work of the new age, so that he would no longer suffer punishment for failing to observe the law. Those under the law could receive God’s salvation and not perish only if they kept up with the work of Jesus. The chief priests, scribes, and Pharisees among the Jews, however, didn’t know the work of the Holy Spirit or what the work Jesus did was. In their conceptions, they believed that it was a betrayal of their God and purely the worst offense to not observe the law or pray in the name of Jehovah. Besides, as they considered that they were familiar with the Bible and had served Jehovah in the temple for many years, they believed what they held to was the truth, the most correct way; so, they regarded Jesus’ work a way outside the Bible, which ran counter to the Bible and the law. Hence, they would rather die than accept the message Jesus preached, and they even condemned Jesus’ work as heresy, a cult, and something deceiving people. Even though there was authority and wisdom to Jesus’ work and words and His miracles were unprecedented, and even though more and more people were testifying to Jesus’ deeds, they were still unwilling to investigate and seek this higher way. Rather, they were opinionated and stiff-necked and denied Jesus to be the Christ, the coming Messiah. Just as whatAlmighty God reveals: “Man is only able to accept one kind of work, or one way of practice. It is difficult for man to accept work, or ways of practice, that are at odds with them, or higher than them—but the Holy Spirit is always doing new work, and so there appear group after group of religious experts that oppose the new work of God. These people have become ‘experts’ precisely because man has no knowledge of how God is always new and never old, and has no knowledge of the principles of God’s work, and, what’s more, has no knowledge of the many ways in which God saves man. As such, man is utterly unable to tell if it is work that comes from the Holy Spirit, and if it is the work of God Himself. Many people cling to an attitude in which, if it corresponds with the words that came before, then they accept it, and if there are differences with the work of before, then they oppose and reject it.” (from “Knowing the Three Stages of God’s Work Is the Path to Knowing God” in The Word Appears in the Flesh) A believer in God should at least have a fear of God and hunger and thirst for righteousness. Only then can he receive the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit, come to know God’s new work, and follow God’s footsteps closely. The chief priests, scribes, and Pharisees of the Jews met Jesus many times, but instead of seeking the truth, they just tried every means to test Him and get something against Him. Nathanael and the Samaritan woman, as well as Jesus’ disciples and the other people didn’t have knowledge of God either and also had notions about God’s new work, but they could drop them and seek the truth. As a result, they recognized Jesus’ identity and God’s voice and obeyed and accepted the truth. Thus it can be seen that those religious elites were not only obstinate and hidebound but also arrogant and self-right, and they didn’t accept or submit to the truth at all.

As more and more Jewish people followed the Lord Jesus, the chief priests, scribes, and Pharisees became more fearful because they worried that their expectation of having people forever obey them would become a vain hope. The authority and power of Jesus’ words and work were unmatched by them, which made them feel inferior and ashamed of themselves. Thus, they had an ever increasing sense of crisis: If Jesus existed, the temple would become more and more desolate, and they could not continue enjoying a life of being supported, regarded as supreme, and sustained by others. So, they took Jesus as their irreconcilable foe. To preserve their position, they tried in every way to frame Jesus and blaspheme and condemn His work, spreading the slander that He cast out devils through Beezlebub the chief of the devils, and bearing false witness against Him, saying that He spoke words against the holy place and the law. (cf. Acts 6:10-14) They were dead set on removing Jesus from the Jewish people, and finally crucified Him. Even when Jesus had been resurrected from the dead and His disciples had more power and were accompanied with wonders in preaching the gospel, which sufficiently proved that the way they preached had the work of the Holy Spirit and was upheld by the Holy Spirit, those chief priests, scribes, and Pharisees still didn’t consider why Jesus’ gospel could be so prosperous. In fact, these “honorable” figures who were well versed in the Bible and wealthy in knowledge simply scorned to investigate and seek from those villagers, fishermen, and “ignorant” common people, who had no standing or knowledge. On the pretext of “defending the law and guarding the right way,” they continued to use power to collude with those in office and further restrict and oppress and even frenziedly kill those disciples and other Jewish followers of Jesus, exerting all their efforts to hinder people from following the Lord Jesus. And they forbade anyone to spread Jesus’ name…. Their evil deeds aroused God’s wrath, and the whole Jewish nation suffered unprecedented destruction. They paid a bitter price for resisting and condemning God.

Today, in the last days, God has prepared a greater salvation for those who have been redeemed by His precious blood—judging and purifying man with His word, which is a newer and higher stage of work. Through this stage of work, man will be completely freed of his corrupt satanic disposition, break free from the bondage of Satan’s dark influence, and become a holy man who knows God, is compatible with God, and truly belongs to God, thus being saved and perfected. This is the last stage of work in God’s six-thousand-year management plan. During God’s work of the last days, Christ incarnate has expressed many words of life supplying man with the truth, ridding him of his corruption, and disclosing various heavenly mysteries. And by virtue of His wisdom, great power, and authority, God has the gospel of the last days spread to thousands of families, all corners of the country. Millions of people who thirst and seek the truth have left their denominations or sects and returned before Almighty God, and the unprecedented scene of “the peoples streaming to this mountain” has appeared, and it is spreading to the entire universe. However, in the face of so many truths, such a great wonder, and such testimonies of the Holy Spirit’s work, the religious people pay no heed to them and are not touched in the slightest. They neither study them with care nor accept them with humility. Like the Pharisees, they don’t know that the work of the Holy Spirit always progresses forward, and that it is always new and never old, which is a principle by which the Holy Spirit works. They don’t have the slightest knowledge of Almighty God’s work of the last days, yet they believe confidently that they have already gained the truth and known God since they have enjoyed a way higher than that of the Age of Law of the Old Testament, and they are versed in the Old and New Testament, and have worked and preached for many years. They also stubbornly believe in this: All the Lord’s words are in the Bible. Any way that is outside of the work of Jesus and the Bible is not the true way. Departing from God’s requirements for man in the Age of Grace amounts to going beyond Christ’s teaching. Only what they have accepted, known, and held to is the true way. Anything other than that is heresy, a cult. They constrain God within the Bible and within their conceptions and imaginations. No matter how high the work brought by Almighty God is, how much work of the Holy Spirit it has, how many ways of practice it brings, and how many facts there are to verify it, they do not acknowledge that it is from God. So they all are hostile to Jesus’ return and deny it, and they even blaspheme God’s incarnate flesh, and slander and condemn the work and words of Christ of the last days. Aren’t they stubborn, hidebound, arrogant, self-right, defiant of the truth, and blasphemous of the Holy Spirit like the Pharisees of those days? As Almighty God says: “If you only come to know God from one stage of His work, then your knowledge is too, too little. Your knowledge is but a drop in the ocean. If not, why would many of the religious old guard nail God to the cross alive? Is it not because man confines God within certain parameters? Do many people not oppose God and obstruct the work of the Holy Spirit because they do not know the varied and diverse work of God, and, furthermore, because they possess but a smidgeon of knowledge and doctrine with which to measure the work of the Holy Spirit? Though the experiences of such people are superficial, they are arrogant and indulgent in nature, and they regard the work of the Holy Spirit with contempt, ignore the disciplines of the Holy Spirit and, moreover, use their trivial old arguments to ‘confirm’ the work of the Holy Spirit. They also put on an act, and are wholly convinced of their own learning and erudition, and that they are able to travel across the world. Are such people not those who are despised and rejected by the Holy Spirit, and will they not be eliminated by the new age? Are not those who come before God and openly oppose Him myopic little people, who are merely trying to show how clever they are? With but a meager knowledge of the Bible, they try to straddle the world’s ‘academia,’ with but a superficial doctrine to teach people, they try to reverse the work of the Holy Spirit, and attempt to make it revolve around their own thought process, and short-sighted as they are, they try to behold in one glance 6,000 years of God’s work. Do these people have any reason to speak of? In fact, the greater people’s knowledge of God, the slower they are to judge His work. Furthermore, they only talk a little of their knowledge of God’s work today, but they are not rash in their judgments. The less people know of God, the more arrogant and overconfident they are, and the more wantonly they proclaim God’s being—yet they only talk of theory, and offer no real evidence. Such people are of no value whatsoever. Those who see the work of the Holy Spirit as a game are frivolous! Those who are not cautious when they encounter the new work of the Holy Spirit, who run their mouths off, are quick to judge, who give free rein to their natural instinct to deny the rightness of the Holy Spirit’s work, and also insult and blaspheme it—are such disrespectful people not ignorant of the Holy Spirit’s work? As those true believers in the Lord return to God’s family by the thousands, the spread of God’s work in the last days has gradually reached its climax. However, the magnificence of the work of the Holy Spirit hasn’t made those religious experts—who have been accustomed to leading and commanding others in a lofty position—examine themselves and lower their proud heads to seek and investigate. Instead, finding that they are in an increasing danger of losing their positions, they begin to worry that people will all return to Almighty God and “snub” and reject them. So, to change the situation, the pastors, elders, leaders, co-workers of every denomination and sect, brandishing the banner of “watching the flock for the Lord,” begin to print and distribute adverse materials, spread rumors on the internet, and use many other ways to wantonly blaspheme and attack Almighty God. They spread the slander that Almighty God’s words are written by man, not God’s words, and that there is drug in the book, and whoever reads it will be brainwashed. And they distort the facts and call white black, falsely accusing the Church of Almighty Godof being the “sect of Eastern Lightning,” an underworld organization. By so doing, they deceive and threaten the believers so that they dare not approach or come into contact with God’s gospel at all, and the denominations and sects are sealed impenetrable and watertight. These religious leaders forbid the believers to read the books of the Eastern Lightning, listen to the messages of the Eastern Lightning, and receive the preachers of God’s salvation of the last days or even any stranger, which completely goes contrary to the teaching of entertaining strangers, as required by God in the Age of Grace. The most shocking thing is that as believers in God, they even collude with the government to do the evil deeds of selling out the Lord and the friends. They track, watch, and report the brothers and sisters who preach the gospel of the last days, and even act as the hidden traitors to provide information for the secret arrest of them. It seems that they only wish to catch all those who testify God and eliminate God’s new work to slake their hatred. They clearly know that Almighty God’s followers are all kind-hearted true believers in God, and that these people don’t have any ill intention in preaching the salvation of the last days, yet they savagely and rudely insult, drive, and even beat these gospel preachers. It is plain to see that these religious people have long lost the work of the Holy Spirit, and the substance of their nature is one of refusing to accept the truth, being tired of the truth, and hating the truth. Outwardly they run and spend themselves doing the work, yet they harbor ambitions and disobedience. They are actually seeking positions and running for profits, exerting every effort to satisfy their selfish desires.

Thus it can be seen that both the religious world of Judaism of that time and the religious people of all denominations and sects today act against God, the truth, and the true way determinedly again and again without “fearing death,” essentially because they have no knowledge of God’s working principles and of God’s new work and they are stubborn, hidebound, arrogant, and self-right, and don’t seek the truth at all. Moreover, it is closely related to their great ambition for position and bad character. Now is the critical time of transition from the old age to the new age. The spiritual war has reached its peak. If one still believes those religious people’s rumors and false testimonies and is at their beck and call, disregards, scorns, and sneers at God’s such work and words, is irresponsible for his own life, still says what others say, follows the crowd and comments on the work of the Holy Spirit casually and indulgently, doesn’t have any will and courage to set his face toward justice and be freed from the bondage and hindrance of Satan’s influence, and only muddles along drifting with the tides, he will never be able to see the countenance of the Creator, forever lose the opportunity to know God, and only become a puppet of the history, a sacrificial object of Satan, and fall into darkness, weeping and gnashing his teeth, and perish. And the scriptures in Isaiah 9:14-16 will be fulfilled: “Therefore the LORD will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day. The ancient and honorable, he is the head; and the prophet that teaches lies, he is the tail. For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.” We must know that God will not choose any base person who does not thirst for the truth, believes in God in a muddled way, has no definite views and ground of his own, adores the powers, and veers with the wind. On the contrary, He is looking for and perfecting a group of “chaste virgins” who hold God to be great, are of clear and sober mind, simple and obedient, and sincerely thirst for and seek God. This is an absolutely true fact! Isn’t the lesson of the Israelites paid for in blood enough to wake you up?

Why does the “Eastern Lightning” spread so fast and unstoppably despite being guarded against by all people?

Christ of the last days has carried out His work in Mainland China for about 20 years, which has shaken all denominations and sects. There is a question greatly puzzling the religious world: Now almost everyChristian denomination is violently condemning and attacking the “Eastern Lightning,” and they spare no human, material, and financial resources and resort various means to publicize how to guard against and shut out the Eastern Lightning, and even join hands with the CCP in arresting and persecutingAlmighty God and the brothers and sisters of the Church of Almighty God. But why do more and more believers accept and follow Almighty God under such great oppression and opposition? Why do those who have good humanity and used to have a sincere belief in the Lord have followed Almighty God unwaveringly despite the rejection from their relatives and the danger of imprisonment? Why is it that the Eastern Lightning is so overwhelming that it cannot be crippled or broken up by any forces but instead grows rapidly like a bamboo shoot after a spring rain?

Actually, all those religious people who are familiar with the Bible ignore a very important truth: If it is from God, it must thrive; if it is from man, it will perish. Consider this: If He were not the only true God appearing personally, who could break through all of the hindrance, resistance, and persecution like the walls of copper and steel? If the Holy Spirit did not work and lead, who could have the authority and power to make all peoples stream to the mountain and all denominations become one? If He were not the appearance of the only true God, who could bring the truth and enable people to know God? Who could show people the way of salvation? Who could judge and conquer mankind? Those in all denominations and sects never expect that Almighty God whom they boldly condemn, resist, and persecute is exactly the returned Lord Jesus they have been anxiously longing for.

In the Bible, it is written that only the Lamb can open the scroll and break the seven seals. Almighty God—Christ of the last days—has expressed millions of words. These words disclose all the mysteries of God’s six-thousand-year management plan as well as the background, inside truth, and substance of each stage of God’s work, and they also judge man directing at his corrupt nature and true condition of corruption. And His words also tell us the inside story of the Bible, the mystery of God’s incarnation, the clear will and specific requirements of God for man, the history and future destination of mankind, and so on. The words of Almighty God not only feast man’s eyes and broaden man’s horizons, but also enable man to know God’s work, God’s disposition and substance, and even more can transform man’s disposition and purify them. They are exactly the truths that can enable the corrupt mankind to be saved and perfected. God’s sheep hear God’s voice. Those humble and obedient believers have been conquered by God’s words in the process of their seeking and investigating the true way. They truly see that no human doctrines and knowledge can replace or compare with God’s present work and words, and confirm that Almighty God brimming with righteousness, majesty, and wrath is the Son of man who is prophesied to come back in the last days. They see that the kingdom has already descended on the earth, and clearly recognize that the three stages of work in the Age of Law, the Age of Grace, and the Age of Kingdom are all done by one God, and done by God Himself, which is absolutely true. Only if man equips himself with the truth expressed by Almighty God and experiences His work of the last days will he be able to set on the right track of belief in God, come to know God, and be saved by God. As such, they fall down before God and return to God, and are willing to follow God to the end even at cost of their lives. That is the very reason why more and more true believers in God unwaveringly follow the Eastern Lightning without fearing any hardships and danger.

In fact, God’s work can’t be judged to be right or wrong, and it can only be said as new one or old one, former one or latter one, for the inherent principle of God’s work is this: God’s work is always new and never old, and never follows any doctrines. The new work and the old work are not contradictory but complementary, and the new work is higher than the old one and follows on from the old one. If we calm down and seek and examine it, we will have some knowledge of the three stages of work in God’s six-thousand-year management plan, and will find it not so hard to understand that the work that Almighty God—Christ of the last days—has carried out is based on the work in the Age of Grace and follows the stream of Jesus’ work, and that it does not stand alone, much less is a different way. Then you will be able to understand why only Almighty God’s work of the last days can purify and transform man and enable man to completely break free from the bond of the dark influence of Satan and be saved by God.

Let us look back on the situation at the end of the Age of Law. Though people knew what sins were, they couldn’t refrain themselves from sinning, unable to keep the law. As they committed more sins and the offerings became less, people, who were trapped in sins and unable to escape from them, gradually lost their reverence for God, and they even offered the blind or lame oxen and sheep on the altar. This put them in danger of being cursed by the law. In such circumstances, for God to save mankind, He must do a new stage of work, for only the Creator—God Himself—could save the corrupt, fallen mankind. So God was incarnated as Jesus and carried out the work of the Age of Grace. He was crucified on the cross to bear man’s sins and accomplished the redemption work. Moreover, Jesus taught people to be patient and forbear with others, love their neighbors as themselves, and take the cross and follow Him, and also required them to practice bread-breaking, wine-drinking, feet-washing, head-covering, and so on. The truths He asked people to practice were more and His requirements of them were higher than in the Age of Law. He showed man the direction ahead in the new age and the path to follow, so that they could enjoy the abundance of God’s grace and be redeemed by God. The work Jesus did in the Age of Grace fulfilled the law and put an end to the Age of Law which lasted two thousand years, and is a new and high work on the foundation of the work done by Jehovah.

Thanks to the appearance of Jesus Christ incarnate, the whole mankind was redeemed and man was justified by faith. As long as one believed in Him, he would belong to sin no more and be saved. Although man’s sins were forgiven, the root of sin, that is, man’s satanic nature of resisting and betraying God, was not resolved. Thus, even though God did not remember man’s transgressions or treat man according to his transgressions, man, living in the flesh, still didn’t break free of the bondage of sins completely, and he could only live in the endless cycle of committing sins and confessing them. As man has not truly got rid of sins or become holy, his satanic disposition will be betrayed spontaneously under suitable circumstances. It is just as Paul said, “… to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.” From this we can see that “be saved” does not mean that man has been completely gained by God. That is to say, the redemption work in the Age of Grace alone can’t make man an overcomer, for God doesn’t do the work of removing man’s corrupt satanic dispositions. If man always remains in the stage of work of the Age of Grace and always holds on to those shallow and old practices without any changes, he cannot become a holy person or have an increasing knowledge of God. Instead, he can only remain stagnant and his life will cease to grow, and he will be farther away from God and finally be taken away by Satan. So, in order to save man completely from the influence of Satan, God must personally do another stage of work, which is more deep and thorough, to supply man with the word of life, so that he will know God’s work, God’s management, God’s almightiness and wisdom, God’s substance, God’s disposition, and what God has and is, and will understand all the truths and set upon the right way of human life. In this way, man’s old conceptions and disposition will be changed, and his sinful nature will be removed, that is, the satanic rules and philosophies and the poisons of the great red dragon hidden in man’s blood and marrow will be cast off, and he will become one who has the truth and humanity and who truly obeys God. Now Almighty God is doing this very work, the work of conclusion. He brings more truths to man on the foundation of Jesus’ work in the Age of Grace, and moreover, He promulgates the commandments and decrees in the Age of Kingdom. He makes a higher requirement of man than in the Age of Grace: He asks man to pursue to understand the truth of God’s word, know God’s disposition and what God has and is, know man’s satanic nature of disobeying and resisting God, practice the truth and live by God’s word after understanding the truth, and thus attain the transformation in his disposition. Hence, man will become holy and recover the life of worshiping God as a created being and enter the wonderful destination God has prepared for him.

The Bible has long prophesied God’s salvation of the last days. In First Peter 1:5, it says: “Who are kept by the power of God through faith to salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.” This verse clearly foretells that God has prepared the salvation of the last time for those who follow Jesus. Then, what is the salvation of the last time? The Bible says: “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God….” (1 Peter 4:17) “And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp two edged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shines in his strength.” (Revelation 1:16) “And I saw another angel fly in the middle of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.” (Revelation 14:6-7) From these verses, we can see that the everlasting gospel refers to the work of judgment God does in the last days, that is, the work of God judging and purifying man with the words like a double-edged sword. This is exactly the judgment before the great white throne spoken of in Revelation, the work of determining the ending and destination of man. Almighty God says: “When it comes to the word ‘judgment,’ you will think of the words that Jehovah spoke to all the places and the words of rebuke that Jesus spoke to the Pharisees. Though these words are stern, they are not God’s judgment of man; these words are only those spoken by God within different environments, that is, different settings, and they are unlike the words spoken by Christ as He judges man in the last days. In the last days, Christ uses a variety of truths to teach man, reveal the essence of man, and dissect his words and deeds. These words comprise various truths, such as man’s duty, how man should obey God, how man should be loyal to God, how man ought to live out the normal humanity, as well as the wisdom and disposition of God, and so on. These words are all focused on the essence of man and his corrupt disposition. In particular, those words that reveal how man spurns God are spoken in regards to how man is an embodiment of Satan and an enemy force against God. When God does the work of judgment, He does not simply make clear the nature of man with just a few words, but carries out revelation, dealing, and pruning over the long term. Such manner of revelation, dealing, and pruning cannot be substituted with ordinary words but with the truth that man does not possess at all. Only such manner of work is deemed judgment; only through such judgment can man be persuaded, be thoroughly convinced into submission to God, and gain true knowledge of God. What the work of judgment brings about is man’s understanding of the true face of God and the truth about his rebelliousness. The work of judgment allows man to gain much understanding of the will of God, of the purpose of God’s work, and of the mysteries that could not be understood by man. It also allows man to recognize and know his corrupt substance and the roots of his corruption, as well as to discover the ugliness of man. These effects are all brought about by the work of judgment, for the substance of such work is actually the work of opening up the truth, way, and life of God to all those who have faith in Him. This work is the work of judgment done by God.” (from “Christ Does the Work of Judgment With the Truth” in The Word Appears in the Flesh) These words of God show us this: In the last days, God uses His word to do the work of judgment so that man will better understand His will, have a true knowledge of Him, know the root and essence of man’s corruption, truly gain the truth, the way, and the life that Christ of the last days bestows on him, and be completely gained and saved by God. This is a more thorough salvation work built on the redemption work of Jesus, and is also the last stage of work to conclude God’s six-thousand-year management plan, that is, the work of conquering and perfecting man. It is exactly the salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

As people lack the knowledge of God and do not comprehend or understand the deeds and will of God, they always guard against and shun the new work of God or give it a wide berth. The true followers of God, however, are not so. They have a place for God in their hearts, and can put their notions aside and calm down and seek and examine it, so they receive God’s enlightenment and their attitude toward the second incarnate God changes from conception to knowledge, from opposition to acceptance, from rejection to love. They are just like the disciples and Jewish people who recognized the Lord Jesus as the One coming from heaven. Although they are confronted with various blockades, hindrances, restrictions, oppression, and persecution from the religious world, the media, and the political world, once they recognize the true way, they follow it firmly and closely. This is the power of the work of the true God! Now the kingdom gospel of Almighty God has already spread across the Mainland China like splitting a bamboo, and is expanding to the entire universe. Brothers and sisters, are you not willing to receive all the truths God bestows upon man and live in the light? Do you really not understand the real meaning of the Lord Jesus’ repeated warning to people in the last days? Are you not afraid to be one who will regret forever for missing God’s full salvation?
